In 1958, our founder, Momofuku Ando created the world’s first instant noodles. On a trip to the U.S. in 1966, Mr. Ando noticed Americans curiously eating forkfuls of noodles out of cups, instead of using bowls and chopsticks. With that simple observation, the worldwide Cup Noodles? phenomenon was born. Shortly after, in 1970, Nissin officially put down its roots in the U.S. In 1972, our Gardena, CA, plant started production of Top Ramen?—the first instant ramen manufactured and sold in the U.S. And ever since, Nissin Foods USA has been creating jobs, launching careers and sharing the joy of noodles with the world.

Nissin Foods was honored to support the Sister City Goodwill Baseball Classic, celebrating the bond between Gardena, CA, and Ichikawa, Japan. As the official jersey sponsor, it was incredible to see young athletes from both cities take the field wearing the Nissin Foods name with pride. We were founded in Japan and have proudly been rooted in Gardena for over 50 years; this event was especially meaningful to our team. As part of the sister city initiative, Gardena hosted Ichikawa for the Sister City Goodwill Baseball Classic — a youth baseball series designed to strengthen international ties through friendly competition! With deep roots in Japan, Nissin Foods USA is proud to share the innovation and dedication of our team with our visitors. During their visit, we provided a tour of our facility and exchanged thoughtful gifts as a gesture of friendship and appreciation. We are grateful for the opportunity to host representatives from both cities at our Gardena offices, and we look forward to continuing to build on this meaningful partnership.

Recently, we had the pleasure of welcoming Uleses C. Henderson III, one of our Nissin Foods Good Neighbor Scholarship recipients, to our Gardena office! ? It was a joy to meet Uleses and hear about his goals for the future. This fall, he’ll be heading to the University of Southern California to study psychology, a field he’s passionate about and eager to explore. ? During his visit, Uleses met with our President and CEO, Brian Huff, picked up some Nissin swag, and left with a generous supply of his favorite Nissin Foods products, especially Chow Mein and Cup Noodles! ? We’re proud to support Uleses on his academic journey and can’t wait to see all that he’ll achieve in the years ahead!
